First Draft Feedback

Feedback on Cover Page

In class we have assessed each other's music magazine based on a mark scheme. This is what I was told I did well:
  • used software (Paint.Net and Page Plus) excellently
  • good photography - really clear
  • consistent colour scheme all throughout cover page
  • the effect added to image enhanced the attitude of the cover star
  • cover star makes direct mode of address
I am happy with my cover page as it took me a long time to match the colour scheme to the cover star's costume. However, the assessor told me that to improve my cover page I should:
  • add a pug to cover page
  • add a subscription advertisement
  • add a sky line story or selling line for more effect
I do realize that typical music magazines are packed with puff, pugs, screamers and other advertisements, however I want to keep my cover page really simple so that readers focus on the cover star. I don't want things like pugs and screamers to distract from the main cover star as that image is just wonderfully amazing and it portrays the rebelious attitude of the star.
